Testosterone is the primary male hormone. It is the hormone that gives you your male characteristics. It is the most significant androgen. Androgen in Greek refers to "man maker".

Following are some easy tips to increase testosterone production naturally:

1: Focus your weight training on compound exercises- Compound exercises are the ones that put stress on multiple muscles at the same time. These exercises have maximum effect on your testosterone production. Some examples include squats, bench press, chin ups, barbell rows etc.,

2: Include Essential Fatty Acids in your diet- Though most poeple tend to think that fat is bad for your health, the fact is that you need Essential Fatty Acids for the production of testosterone. This is because all anabolic steroid hormones are produced in cholesterol. A diet that is deficient in EFA's leads to lower levels of testosterone. The best source of EFA's is oily fish like salmons, sardines and mackerels.

3: Avoid too much soy-Try not to eat too many foods containing soy products, as soy is known to increase estrogen and lower testosterone.

4: Avoid drinking too much alcohol- Drinking excessive alcohol as well as smoking can lead to lower testosterone levels. You must therefore, quit drinking alcohol and smoking.

5: Get quality sleep time- Not getting enough sleep will raise cortisol levels, and this means lower testosterone levels for you. 6: Decrease stress in your life- Decreasing stress has a very positive effect on your testosterone production. Though there are immense pressures on all of us to perform whether at work or at home, try to reduce stress and relax. This is going to help you a great deal.
