At one time or another we all experience some form of back pain. Usually caused by a bump or accident of some sort, the back pain is very easy to treat.
Controlling the occurrences of back pain can sometimes be very difficult, making it harder to control the occurrences of the back pain. For instance, back pain can be the symptom of certain spinal conditions that many are born with and not discovered until the pain starts. You can help reduce and eliminate the pain once you can find out the source of the pain.
For those under 60 consider these things: Age can have a great effect in regards to back pain. This separates the elderly from others because they are prone to conditions such as arthritis and other degenerative conditions.
For the people who are under sixty, there are really 3 main group or categories. These are characterized by some common symptoms:
Disc herniation - results in pain and numbness in the legs. Can get worse with long periods of sitting or standing. Degenerative disk disease - this is characterized with pain when making certain moves or specific positions. This can also become chronic and extremely painful. Stress fractures - pain when walking or standing and this can be very painful also. Information for the older people One common cause of pain for the elderly is osteoarthritis. This health condition leads to stiffness and usually is worse in morning or evening.
Pain in the legs is caused by another back pain problem specific to the elderly known as lumber spinal stenosis. The pain is caused by putting pressure on the spinal nerves. De generative disc disease is a major cause of low back pain.
It is very common and often becomes chronic back pain. Muscles in the back often spasm causing this chronic pain. The degenerated disc becomes inflamed causing mechanical pain. A proposed method for alleviating degenerated disc disease is by replacing the bad disc with an artificial one.
Conditions of low back pain that are less known The less known conditions of back pain are difficult to diagnose and this makes treatment much more difficult.
Causes of lower back pain:
Spinal tumor Sacroiiac joint syndrome Sciatica Infection Fibromygalia Piriformis syndrome Poly neuropathy These are a little more uncommon causes for lower back pain, however they can be treated when diagnosed properly.
A reason for celebration When you have determined the actual causes of lower back pain and hip pain, it becomes much easier for you and your doctor to find a treatment. This is most definitely a reason to celebrate.
