How Pregnancy Affects Hemorrhoids

Many women experience hemorrhoids when they are pregnant, this is because of an increase of bloods flow and pressures in the bodies lower half. Hemorrhoids are the swelling of veins around the anus area.

Usually hemorrhoids during pregnancy are common occurrences in many women, more so in those who have experienced it before. While for many having hemorrhoids during pregnancy, happening again is normal, but it can also plague a woman who has not experienced it before. Hemorrhoids can appear at any stage of pregnancy or actual child birth. In some cases, many women notice that shortly after giving birth, that the hemorrhoids may be gone naturally, however they may return at a later date and they may be worse at that time.

For most pregnant women, the most common trigger for their hemorrhoids is constipation. There are some useful ideas to prevent having hemorrhoids during pregnancy such as increasing water intake, increasing fiber levels in your diet, not lifting heavy items, do 20 minutes or more of exercise every day (particularly walking) and avoid standing or sitting for a long time.

The problem of hemorrhoids during pregnancy is extremely common and painful, however by following a few tips, you will be able to avoid the pain. Those tips are:

1 Sitting in warm water a few times every day

2 Use ice on your anus a few times a day

3 After completing bowel movements be sure your anus is very clean ( use soft toilet paper)

While the best way to help pain is to treat your condition the three tips help you relieve your pain. Creams, gels, surgery, suppositories, and naturals cures are also available to help treat hemorrhoids during pregnancy.

You will need to choose different treatment methods for the different levels of hemorrhoids you have. In some cases more severe hemorrhoids may need surgery while natural cures are better for hemorrhoid that is not so severe.
